How this converter works
This tool calls the free, key-less Frankfurter API in your browser, which returns reference exchange rates published by the European Central Bank. The ECB refreshes these rates once per Eurozone business day, typically around 16:00 CET. Because rates are quoted against each currency's reference value, the value you see here is an official reference rate — banks and transfer providers apply their own spreads on top.
Why rates move
Currency values shift based on the balance of supply and demand: interest rate differences between central banks, trade flows, inflation, employment data, and geopolitical events all push pairs up or down. The historical chart above shows how volatile — or stable — your selected pair has been.
